HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Yesterday (a wee bit early for the official St. Patrick's Day) Dave, the boys and I took part in a flashmob down in Yonge and Dundas Square.  Tourism Ireland hired newchoir to sing.  They wanted at least 100 people to be singing.  Although we are a choir of 150 people, given that it was March break and during a work day not everyone was able to participate which is why I was able to pull Dave in to join for this fun event.  We went to a couple of rehearsals over the past few weeks and then met down at the square early yesterday for a sound check, scattered for an hour or so before gathering back there shortly before Noon for our performance.  My entire family was able to be there which was fantastic and ironically, we bumped into my uncle and cousin there.  They were there to see some friends in the flasmob but did not know that Dave and I were in it as well.  A small world!  The official video is below.  I had Quinn on my shoulders throughout the whole song (on the left hand side of the group) and Dave is behind me in his green Fighting Irish sweatshirt with Kieran popping up and down from his arms.  It was a very fun way to spend time on such "a beautiful day".  Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

DID YOU KNOW?

As the 4 of us were sitting at Grampa Mike and Auntie Erin's table in Ottawa having lunch earlier today we got to chatting about the human body.  Kieran was talking about the fact that our brain is the most important organ in our body.  He explained to us that your brain sends messages to our body telling it what to do.  We nodded in agreement and I mentioned that our heart is also a very important part of our body.  Dave quickly asked the question, "what does our heart do?" Quinn immediately responded, "It makes your love."  It was an absolutely adorable moment I won't soon forget.
Ottawa pics to come tomorrow.  xoxo

This amazing thing, makes your love!

40 YEARS YOUNG!

Today marks our great friend Pete's 40th birthday!  Happy Birthday Pete!  We love you! xo Q.K.K.D.

Rather than bake a cake, we made a giant cookie (a pre b-day celebration on Sunday evening)

Each candle represents 10 years!  I didn't have 40 candles.

Make a wish!

MY LUCKY DAY!

Classic Kieran crawled into bed with me for some early morning snuggles, as he often does.  As we were laying in bed he was nattering away and admittedly I was listening, but dozing as well.  He started playing with my hair and very excitedly announced, "Oh Mummy, you are so lucky, you have some silver hair!"  Joy oh joy, how lucky am I?

LAVA!

I happened upon this sign today that had me laugh out loud.  If you have spent any length of time in our house, you know we jump from couches and area rugs daily.  Watch out for the lava!

A FIRST...

Last night we took the boys to see the Jr. school play at our school.  The boys in grades 3 through 8 put on "A Fractured Fairy Tale of The Three Little Pigs".  The entire audience was laughing throughout.  It was superbly cast, well delivered and the costumes were fantastic!  The 3 little pigs were aptly named; Tenderloin, Rump and Jambon.  All 4 of us loved it; however, Kieran was on the edge of his seat and smiling from start to finish.  Given that this play started at 7pm (bed time) and ran for an hour it could have gone either way.  Both of the boys really enjoyed it.  At 3 different points throughout they were asking for volunteers to come on stage.  Every time, Kieran's hand was the first one up!  What he didn't know was that some of the students in grade 8 had been planted in the audience to be the ones to come up.  The third and final time they asked for volunteers Kieran wasn't going to wait to be selected.  He threw his hand up, got out of his seat, followed the young actor down the aisle to the back of the room and popped up on stage.  He definitely was not supposed to be there, but he wasn't going to take no for an answer.  I took some shots on my iPhone, but none of them turned out very well.  I'm hopeful that some of the photographers there tonight got a photo or 2 and will pass it on.  If i get something I will be sure to post it here.  Although this was the first time we've ever seen Kieran on stage, my best prediction is that it won't be the last...

Enjoying the show.

The big blue glasses kept sliding off.  But he kept putting them back on!

Adorable!

A clearer pic from our school gallery.  Kieran looking very serious!
This one was sent to me from one of my students. A little less serious!
