TRIP FAVES!

We were incredible fortunate to go and stay at a family friends condo (a big thank you to Grampa Mike for organizing this for us) the second week of our break. This was the first family ski trip and so successful and fun that we have no doubt there will be many more! Thanks to Ben P and Ben T for loaning your gear to your buddies Quinn and Kieran. The addiction begins...

The guys LOVED taking the Cabriolet (think convertible gondola) up to the main village.

Too cute!

The condo where we stayed is dead centre. (green peak, wood ones above)

The village view from the condo

Q in a ginormous muskoka chair in the village

Wow! We are really high up, with a long way to go...

K.Q and me at the very top of the mountain

Kieran looking down to our destination. We are about 1/3rd of the way down here.

A few Mike and Ike's as we ride the gondola up - Grampa Mike, we wish you and Auntie Erin could have stayed longer!

A celebratory BeaverTail post ski. YumOlicious!

En route home we stopped to release some energy in PLAYLAND in Kingston.

TREMBLANT = TERRIFIC TIME & TERRIBLY TIRING!

We had the BEST time, but this trip was seriously exhausting!

I put them to bed in separate beds only to check in on them and find Kieran had crawled in with QBall for some snuggles!

A quick nap in the car

Quinn thought it looked like a good idea

Out!

Tired boys!

UP! UP! UP!

To our great surprise, both K & Q caught on to this whole ski thing much faster than we had anticipated. Kieran was skiing solo within an hour of meeting the magic carpet ride/teaching hill. In the same hour Quinn went from in between our legs to harness to one of us skiing backwards and him skiing a short distance to us. Day 2 on the same hill was equally impressive with Quinn skiing down solo mission (insisting he could do it alone!) Today (day 3) we opted to hop on the gondola and go all the way to the top of the mountain. The boys were VERY excited and perhaps a titch nervous as we actually got off the gondola and looked down, down, down at the village below. Great, great fun! We cannot wait to do it again tomorrow!

First trip up the gondola. Here we go, pulling out of the base station!

Wow! Quinn is LOVING life!

Kieran and I traveling up, up, up high in the sky

Snack time! We stopped 1/3rd of the way down our first run for a little refuel. First run took 50 minutes!

Quinn and Daddy, 2nd run of the day (we did 3 in total). Took 30 minutes, no breaks! Having a blast!!!

TERRIFIC TREMBLANT!

Wow! What an amazing place! We had a fantastic first day on the slopes. Both Dave and I were AMAZED at how well the boys did today, their first day on skis. After 1 hour on the slopes, both K and Q were zipping down the hill on their own. Our best hope was that we would END the week with them skiing as they did after only one hour. We are all excited to get the fresh snow in the morning. I have some great iphone video footage but it would take too long to load here. I'll post it another day. More soon... xo k.d.k.q.z.

ONLY IN CANADA!

While it was a beautiful spring (sunny & 10 degrees) feeling day, it didn't quite qualify as a "shorts & t-shirt" afternoon for me; however, Quinn was adamant that it was warm and he needed to wear shorts, t and runners. I say, "pick your battles" and this was one not worth fighting in my world! Off we went down to the dead end out front. Kieran chose to ride his bike, while Q-ball opted to run. I'm sure that it's only in Canada that we feel the need to throw on shorts when in reality it is hardly warm!

GUINNESS GRIN

Dave just found this pic. An oldie, but a good one. Kieran was 4 months old, it was St. Paddy's day and we were on March break at the cottage. Clearly he felt it necessary to partake in the festivities! (Gosh, I find myself looking back on this photo and realize how much I've aged since having children, 5 years ago. Yikes!) Clearly they've made me laugh too much and stolen some of my youth. Must be that not sleeping thing... :)

GREEN BATH & A POT OF GOLD!

Dave drew the greenest bath we've seen yet. A fantastic way to end St. FitzPatrick's day!
Poppy and Nana came for dinner, we ate, laughed, read books and the boys bathed while Nana read a book and Poppy threw money into the tub! Kieran's reaction, "Wow, we live in a fountain!" It was quite hilarious! Thanks so much for coming to celebrate with us tonight. It was great to see you guys.

Money in the bath tub? What a day!!! Kieran promptly announced we should do this again next St. Patrick's Day!

HAPPY ST. FITZPATRICK'S DAY!

St. FitzPatrick's Day wouldn't be complete without the Irish flag flying from our house, green pancakes being served and superheros flying around the house! Happy green day!

Quinn adding green food colouring to pancakes

This green stuff is very cool! "Are we making playdoh?" asked Quinn

Dave's shamrock cakes!

Cheers! This is an awesome breakfast Dad!

I can cut my own!

Post Breakie Run!

SUPERHEROS!

We are superhero obsessed these days! I found this great Superhero book that came with a red cape, punch out masks and wrist guards along with stickers galore! A super fun Monday night at home!
