ROAD TRIP

We did a family road trip to Ottawa this weekend to see Grampa Mike, Auntie Erin, Uncle Connor and Auntie Meg.  We had the most incredible weekend to spend at Winterlude.  It was AWESOME!  Saturday took us to Jacque Cartier Park in Hull to see the amazing snow sculptures and try our hand at a quick slide down the ice slide.  The highlight was snacking on sugar and cinnamon Beavertails!  WOW, they are good!  We visited with friends Sat. afternoon evening.  Sunday was another glorious, sunny day where we went to wander the canal and Confederation Park for the ice sculpting competition.  Very Very Fun!  Thanks for putting up with us for the weekend.  We had a blast!!!

Someday I'll be that big!
The line up for the ice slide.  Uncle Connor has Kieran on his shoulders.  Look for the absolute tallest person in line.  Blue coat, blue frog hat.  It helps to have an uncle who is 6'4".
Yeehaw!
So Fun!  That was a long line for a quick slide!
Quinn enjoying the gorgeous view out Grampa's kitchen windon
Playing with a big chunk of ice while watching the sculptors are work
Amazing!

Kieran's first Beavertail.  Yummalicious!
Ice Sculptures.  They were huge!
Look at me!!!
Watching the ice sculpting competition.  Each participant had one block of ice and two hours to create anything they wanted.  The sculptures were incredible!
A beautiful Heron, a little over an hour into the competition.  We couldn't get close enough at the end to see the finished result.
Coloured ice for kids to build Inukshuks
Kieran and "The Friendly Bears"

We had to coax Quinn into the bear pic.

FIRST DOLLAR EARNED

Kieran has started doing some 'jobs' to earn an allowance.  This is a video taken back in November when we gave him his first dollar but I just came across it in my files so I thought I would post it now.

In the summer Kieran helped water the flowers, helped walk and feed Zaphod our dog.  Now that it's winter the jobs have become more indoor based.  He must clear his dishes from the table and put them in the sink and he has to tidy up his toys.  At the end of each week he gets ONE CANADIAN TIRE DOLLAR.  Luckily, our local candy store accepts Canadian Tire money.  Ah life is good!

A BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A SKATE

What a perfect day for a skate by the lake!  We had a blast meeting Aunt Kelly, Uncle Darin, Owen, Kaitlyn, Nora and Maeve at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington for a skate, lunch and a play in the park.  What a beautiful spot on a beautiful day.  The rink is right on the lake with a wind screen and music to boot!  We cannot wait to do it again.  Great idea Aunt Kelly!

Thanks Uncle Darin & Daddy for helping me out!
