FIRE OBSESSED

It was a fireman focused weekend. There was a ladder truck at the street festival, so the boys had an opportunity to sit in the drivers seat. Later that afternoon we were witness to a real life fire! We were sitting on our front porch having a drink when we heard lots of sirens. A neighbour told us that Underworld (the local underwear shop) was on fire. It is only a block from our house so the boys quickly ran into the house to grab their fireman helmets and rushed out to Dundas. Dave and I looked at one another and had to laugh at the fact that we were running toward the fire, rather than away from it. There was 5 fire trucks, one ambulance and lots of action happening. Once the fire was under control the boys went over to say hello. Kieran told the firemen that they had done a great job! Never a dull moment!

Do you think they would notice if I hopped on the back?

JUNCTION ARTS FESTIVAL

A very fun weekend right here in our own neighbourhood. We parked the car in the garage after school on Friday and walked or biked everywhere. We wandered up and down a pedestrian only Dundas St. West enjoying the Junction Arts Festival many times this weekend. We made our way into High Park this morning to partake in the Terry Fox Run. Dave ran pushing Quinn in the baby jogger, while I biked, pulling Kieran in the chariot. A long, steep hill at the end was definitely challenging. Getting these boys up hurt a bit, but we made it and had a blast! Kieran got out of the chariot and thought he should get a massage from one of the many therapists there. Too funny! Back to the real world or work tomorrow.

KIERAN'S FIRST DAY OF JK

WOW! Who knew this day would come so fast? Kieran is officially going to school. He started JK at Annette Street Public School in Ms. Chang's class this morning. He was beyond adorable when I dropped him off. Excited to make new friends and to be a big boy at a big school. I gave him a big hug and told him I had to leave to which he responded, "Go Mum. Your class is waiting for you. Have a good day at school Mum. I love you." I had to laugh out loud as I felt he had stolen my lines! As we said our goodbye, he hopped on a bike and rode away, not looking back once! I think he is going to love being a "JK'er".
Morning Message for carpet time. Welcome Kieran and new friends!

UNDERWEAR!

I just checked in on Quinn before heading to bed myself and this is what I saw. I gave him new truck underwear tonight thinking it would be inspiration to stop wearing diapers and wear groovy underwear. He loved them so much he INSISTED upon wearing a pair to bed and sleeping with the rest of them. Too Funny! This is how he is sleeping right now as I share this post. If only truck underwear was as exciting to all of us!
Quinn wearing the chosen pair (over his diaper). I had already put him to bed when I could hear him yelling, "please, please, please Mum. I want to wear my trucks!" He was so darn polite about it, I couldn't resist helping him out.

Dreaming of trucks no doubt.

Bye Bye Preschool, Hello JK!
Kieran officially graduated from his preschool class (cap and all) on Monday August 31st.
We arrived at daycare to pick him up to find his whole class sitting eating snack with two boys (Kieran and Erik) wearing Happy Graduation Caps. Very Fun! Thanks to Jamie and Angie for making him feel so special. How time flies!!!
