IMPROMPTU FIREWORKS FUN!

It wasn't until arriving home from the cottage late Sunday night that we realized the boys had never seen a fireworks display. As we heard booms in the sky and caught glimpses of the works nearby via our 3rd floor window we decided if we could pull off a very quick and easy firework party on Monday evening, we would. Thankfully our local convenience store had a few boxes of fireworks so we spent $20 and invited some neighbours to join in the fun. At 7:15pm big black clouds arrived with lots of lightning and heavy rains, we were certain we would need to postpone the show. Thankfully the storm blew over by 8pm and gave way to a perfect evening with some neighbourhood friends. Next year, we are going bigger and better. And so a new tradition begins...

I'm not sure if it was more fun to watch the kids & Pete's faces or the fireworks themselves.

Our beautiful friend and neighbour Oriana baked cupcakes for the kiddos. Thanks O!

Nobody is going to turn down a cupcake at 8pm on a school night

In Quinn's excitement he slapped
Kieran on his very sunburned shoulder. The photo that our friend John snapped tells a much different story. Ooops!

MAY LONG WEEKEND IN MUSKOKA!

How lucky are we? Very! We loved spending some time on the island this past weekend with the Fitz family. We have the most awesome new next door neighbours! Darin, Kel and their 4 kids are now immediately next door which will make for some incredible memories up there. The 6 kids (aged 9, 8, 6, 5, 3 and 3) love one another to bits. They have become a little pack and travel in their group. One if never far from the others and I have no doubt an outstanding summer is ahead! Thanks for all of the laughs...

Owen showing us that he can walk on water (or just a very lucky snap).

Jump!

Nice air Kaitlyn!

This lake is seriously cold! 62 degrees!

Get me out of here!

Trying to catch some of the sun for a bit of warmth

Quinn looking for an escape from the sunshine

Marvelous Maeve has absolutely NO FEAR! I am certain she thinks she is 10, not 3!

"Mexican Brownies" as Darin dubbed it. Take a bite of brownie, a strawberry and squirt cool whip into your mouth! The kids loved it!

Darin loved it too!

Owen hoping his tongue is long enough to get that cool whip off his nose!

The Titanic pose!

Cousins excited to see a big bag of Sun Chips!

Boys! Quinn, Owen and Kieran hanging out.

Girls! Kaitlyn, Nora and Maeve loving life!

All 6 kids jumped in the boat and we snapped the cover on. Instant baby sitting! Quinn found some groovy sunglasses while undercover!

Catholic school kids! They opted to put Kieran (I mean Jesus) on the cross!

Uncle Darin thinking about jumping in off the roof of the boat house. Don't do it Darin!

Peddle boat madness - how many kids/adults does this boat hold?

All cousins + Darin on board and Dave opted to swim out and try and tip'em over!

Thankfully it didn't work!

Quinn's hair madness. Summer cut coming soon!

A CHEEKY LITTLE GRANDSON!

This short series of pics was a hysterical exchange between a 5 year old boy and his Grampa!
Kieran was trying to decide who he should soak with his water gun, of the 10+ people on the dock, Grampa Mike was the lucky winner. (See the small dot of water on his back in one of the chasing pics. At least he was good enough not to soak his poor G.M.) Fun times!

Eeney, Meeney, Miney...

Filling up...

Notice Uncle Darin's face. G.M is oblivious at this point.

But he's not anymore... Run Kieran Run!

Uh oh, he caught you!

Kieran took the time to wave at all of us on the dock.

I love Owen in the background wondering if Grampa is actually going to throw Kieran in the lake! (Thankfully he did not, all is well that ends well...)

SCHOOL PICS!

Cheesy alert! These are the photos snapped by the daycare for picture day. Why do they use such ridiculous backgrounds?

HILARITY IN THE HAMMER!

Sunday had us in Hamilton to celebrate Kaitlyn's First Communion. (or as Kieran put it, "the first time Kaitlyn gets to have the church snack! Quinn and I still need to pack our own snacks for church!") Without a doubt, she was the most beautiful little girl in the bunch and we loved being there to celebrate her big day. As always, the hilarity with the cousins puts the boys over the edge. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera so I will have to trust and hope to get my hands on some images from others. It was amazing to see Grampa Mike, Auntie Erin and Auntie Meg who traveled from Ottawa for the occasion. A big effort! The short video below was shot on my iPhone. I was inside and all I could hear was big laughter and giggling coming from the rainy yard. I love the way kids constantly make up games (and rules) as they play together. This is a Light Saber wielding Quinn who freezes everyone he touches. Lots of laughs! Thanks for the constant fun. We love you guys! xox

A-DORABLE!

Here are 2 videos from the Mother's Day Tea concerts on Friday afternoon at Humberside Daycare. It was all very Adorable!

SK class at Humberside Daycare performing the Mummy ABC's. Too cute! I love Kieran and his best bud Ben, watch and enjoy! (This was filmed on my iPhone by none other than Q-Ball himself!)

Here is Quinn's class performing a series of songs for all the Mum's. Quinn did not utter a word, but this is the very first concert he has not come running to me and sat on my lap to watch his friends sing. A big improvement! He may even sing to me next year when he is in JK!
